Skin temperature vs body temperature

Measures skin temperature as a proxy for body temperature.

There are a few things about the skin temperature measurement vs body temperature measurement:

  • Skin temperature is typically a few degrees less than body temperature. As such, the system will report temperature readings lower than internal body temperature (this means the system is working properly)
  • A person's skin temperature may vary based on a variety of circumstances such as ambient temperature, sweat, facial hair, and glasses. For this reason, the system graphs all recent temperature measurements to help the user clearly see anomalies and set a desired temperature alarm threshold based on their own environment
  • Thermal camera can only measure the skin temperature and cannot measure human's body temperature due to the nature of the infrared thermal camera. User may need to manually decide the compensation or offset between the skin temperature and body temperature, or properly resort to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automated the process
